How to replace battery for iPhone 6
As all we know, whther the battery is made how much capacity, it is always one of the easest broken parts, and the broken battery may make your mobile phone not power on, or keep phone work for a short time. First, iPhone 6 battery replacement needed repair tools list:
Special double suction cup opening tool
Plastic single suction cup opening tool
Plastic pry opening tool
Flat end of a spudger
Step 1. Make sure power off your iPhone 6 before beginning disassembly.
Step 2. Remove the two Pentalobe screws at the buttom of iPhone 6.
Step 3. Use the special double suction cups opening tool to open the iPhone 6 safelyThe special double suction cups opening tool opening procedure:
1) Close the handle on the special opening tool, opening the suction-cup jaws.
2) Place the bottom of your iPhone 6 in between the suction cups.
Position the opening tool's upper suction cup against the display, near the home button.
Open the handles to close the jaws of the opening tool. Center the suction cups and press them firmly onto the top and bottom of the iPhone.
3) Hold onto your iPhone securely and close the handle of the opening tool to separate the suction cups, pulling the front panel up from the rear case.
The opening tool is designed to safely open your iPhone just enough to separate the pieces, but not enough to damage the display cables.
Peel the two suction cups off your iPhone.
Step 4. If you don’t have the special opening tool, you can also skip the step 3, use the plastic suction cup opening tool to open iPhone 6. Press a suction cup onto the screen, just above the home button.
Note: Be sure the cup is pressed securely onto the screen to get a tight seal.
Step 5. Using a plastic pry opening tool, begin to gently pry the rear case down, away from the display assembly, while continuing to pull up with the suction cup.
Note: Use the proper force, avoiding to break the flex ribbons
Step 6. Pull the plastic nub to release the vacuum seal on the suction cup.
Then, remove the suction cup from the display assembly.
Step 7. Remove the following four Phillips screws securing the front panel assembly cable bracket:
Three 1.2 mm screws
One 1.7 mm screw
One 3.1 mm screw
Note: Before you remove the front panel assembly, you’d better keep it supported at a 90? angle in relation to the rear case.
Step 7. Remove the front panel assembly cable bracket from the logic board.
Step 8. Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect following four cable connectors.
Front-facing camera and earpiece speaker cable connector.
Home button cable connector
Digitizer cable connector
Display data cable connector
Note: Please gentlely pry these cable connectors.
Step 9. Remove the front panel assembly from the rear case.
Step 10. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws from the battery connector bracket.(in the following picture)
Step 11. Use the tweezer to remove the metal battery connector bracket from the iPhone.
Step 12. Use a plastic pry opening tool to pry the battery connector up from its socket on the logic board
Note: Please only pry up on the battery connector, and not the socket on the logic board. If you pry up on the logic board socket, you may break the connector entirely.
Then attention please, there is adhesive glue to hold the battery steadly in the back housing, so before remove the broken battery, you should deal with the adhesive glue well.
Step 13. first, we should peel up the adhesive tab on the bottom right edge of the battery, and pull away the adhesive tab carefully.
Note: a. Be extra careful when working near the battery—puncturing a lithium-ion battery can release dangerous chemicals and cause a fire.
b. Please protect the connector cable from damages when pull away the adhesive tab.
c. If you can’t clear the adhesive, you can use the heating tool to heat the back cover properly, then remove the adhesive clearly.
Step14. Remove the battery from iPhone 6 back housing carefully.
Finally, when you reassembly the battery, you should use a new adhesive, and install the parts in return as above guide.
